Tired of debt collection calls and debt collector harassment? Have you ever received a collection call where the debt collector was annoying, rude, demeaning or harassing? There is an easy way to stop debt collector harassment, in fact it usually only takes 3 words to stop debt collector harassment in its tracks.

3 Powerful Words that most debt collectors fear, because they know if they say or do the wrong thing, they could get into a lot of trouble. So what are these 3 Words that can prevent or stop debt collector harassment?

The three words are "I record calls!"

These 3 little words are very powerful when it comes to preventing and even stopping debt collector harassment from occurring. Saying the 3 powerful words "I Record Calls" should prevent most collectors from saying something that may be in violation of your consumer rights under the fair debt collection practice act (aka FDCPA). The FDCPA is a set of rules and regulations third party debt collectors have to adhere to and it clearly states that debt collectors cannot be mean, rude or harassing.

The reason this statement is so powerful, is that most debt collectors will say or do anything to try to collect a debt, if they think they can get away with it. By letting the debt collector know you are recording collection calls; this should let the collector know they can't get away with saying anything they want.

Debt collectors know that if they say the wrong thing and a consumer really is recording the collection calls that it could be used against them. Therefore they will be on guard and watch what they say to you, so they don't have a FDCPA violation, which is a violation of your consumer rights.

In some cases, if you advise a debt collector you are recording collection calls, they may immediately hang up the phone, hopefully you wouldn't have a problem with that.

There have been many cases where consumers have sued debt collectors for saying something that was against their rights and they won thousands of dollars, simply because they had a recording of the debt collector's harassing call. Debt collectors and collection agencies fear being sued by consumers, especially if there is solid evidence of harassment with a recorded call.

Of course you don't really have to be recording collection calls. Simply stating that you are going to record the collection call should be enough to prevent the debt collector from harassing you.

With anything in life there is no guarantee and there is no guarantee that this will work with all debt collectors. There may be some rogue debt collectors who don't care what laws they break.

If you are dealing with a debt collector like this, you should consider actually recording those calls and taking action against the debt collector. If you did want to record collection calls, there are many ways to do so. I suggest doing a Google search on recording calls to look for the best option for you.

So next time you receive a debt collection call, say those 3 powerful and simple words "I Record Calls" and this should help you prevent or even stop debt collector harassment in its tracks.
